In the early 19th century, the first rums produced in Antigua were created by individual estate owners who used crude "pot stills" to distill their spirits. With the demise of rum production on the estates in the early 20th century, the trade shifted to individual rum shops whose owners crafted their own blends and sold them under interesting names such as Red Cock, House and Silver Leaf. In 1932, a number of these rum shop owners banded together to form the Antigua Distillery Ltd.

Named "a masterpiece" by renowned spirits critic F. Paul Pacult, English Harbor 25 Year Old has been matured for twenty five years in used whisky and bourbon barrels. The nose opens with inviting notes of wood smoke, vanilla and brown sugar, followed by black cherry, currant, honey and fresh orange blossom. The palate entry offers rich notes of caramelized dark fruit and roasted cashew, which merge with complex layers of candied plum, ripe peach and honey. The long, oak-driven finish is accented by hints of raisin, cinnamon and smoke.
