The secret of fine sherry lies in its careful aging and blending. Lustau has perfected their technique and has been producing award-winning sherries since 1896. Since 1981, Lustau has selected small quantities of the finest quality sherries which have been matured by small independent producers, better known as "almacenistas". The word "almancenista" literally means storekeeper or stockholder in Spanish. The House of Lustau has selected a very limited amount of authentic sherries from the almacenistas, and for the first time it is now available to the public. The label indicates the name of the producer, the style of wine, the town where it has been matured, and the number of barrels that make up the solera.
Lustau's "Almacenista Cuevas Jurado" Manzanilla Amontillada is fresh, distinctive and highly aromatic. Notes of green apple, molasses and bitter cocoa are backed by the characteristic hint of an ocean breeze, which leads to a strong note of roasted nuts on the long, dry finish.
