Limited Release - One bottle per customer
Shortly after Prohibition ended in the United States, the Shapira family founded Heaven Hill Distilleries in Bardstown, Kentucky in order to produce and market bourbon and premium American whiskeys. Although the company was founded with no brands, no available stocks of whiskey, and at the height of the Great Depression, the company has steadily grown over the years, becoming the largest independent, family-owned producer and marketer of distilled spirits in the country. One of their most critically acclaimed brands is Elijah Craig Bourbon, which is named after Reverend Elijah Craig, the man who discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in barrels that had been charred in a fire.
The Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel is a very limited whiskey that Heaven Hill has released under the Elijah Craig brand name. Deep amber in color, this whiskey is rich, robust and very well balanced, both the nose and palate offer notes of toffee, pecan pie, apricot and nougat, peppered with cinnamon, clove, cocoa, mint and tobacco. Hints of vanilla, candied walnuts and dark chocolate emerge on the warm, lasting finish.
