El Presidente

El Presidente was created by Eddie Woelke, an American bartender who worked at the Jockey Club in Havana during Prohibition. He named the drink for Gerardo Machado, who ruled Cuba from 1925 to 1933. Save a dollar when you buy the ingredients together!

1 1/2 oz. Banks "5 Island" Blended Rum
3/4 oz. Senior "Curacao of Curacao" Orange Liqueur
3/4 oz. Boissiere Extra Dry Vermouth
1 dash grenadine*

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
