Released by Buffalo Trace as a part of their 2010 Antique Collection, this highly anticipated bourbon is available in very limited quantities. The current release of Eagle Rare 17 Year is quite impressive, offering a delicate, sweet nose of light toffee, maple and pecan backed by soft baking spice. The palate is far spicier than the nose suggests, but is balanced out with notes of sweet corn, caramel and leather. Semisweet flavors of vanilla, pineapple and mocha emerge on the dry, oaky finish.
