Domaine Rolet is run with astonishing meticulousness and care by the four Rolet siblings. In an area dominated by negociants, the Rolet family farms and bottles their own wine across three AOCs: Arbois, Côtes du Jura and L'Étoile. The family grows a wide variety of grapes traditional to the region: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are hand harvested and farmed sustainably. Vineyards are located in North Arbois on slopes of clay & limestone with red marl subsoil. Domaine Rolet Pere et Fils "Tradition" Arbois Rouge is a blend of Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. All these wine are fermented separately and blended after 18 months in large neutral barrels.
Domaine Rolet Pere et Fils "Tradition" Arbois Rouge is a traditional light red from Arbois which brings the complexity from the soils of the hills of Montigny and Arbois made of red marls and rich gravels, offering an elegant nose of ripe red fruit, wild rose and a touch of mint, leads to a medium bodied palate brimming with notes of cherry, raspberry and vanilla, accented by hints of toasted oak and earth. A delicate touch of caramel merges with silky tannins and satisfying acidity on the finish.
"Completely mature, this lightly wood-aged wine has a smooth, mushroom and red fruit flavor. A touch of tannin gives dryness and delicious, refreshing acidity as an aftertaste. Drink now." - Wine Enthusiast
