Originally from Belgium, the De Forville family arrived in Piedmont in 1848 and established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860. They began growing Nebbiolo on their property and created wine that was sold in bulk directly to restaurants and retailers who bottled the wine themselves. However, in 1940 the estate bottled their first wine and now virtually their entire production is bottled at the estate. The family also expanded their land and now their vineyards are divided among Nebbiolo, Moscato, Barbera, Dolcetto and more.

De Forville Dolcetto d'Alba is a dry, medium bodied red brimming with notes of blackberry, cherry and plum enhanced by hints of earth, licorice and spice. Moderate acidity and structured tannins add depth to the lasting finish.
