Established in 1897 by John Grant, Alexander Mackenzie and George Sellar, Dalwhinnie is situated high in the Grampian mountains at 1057 feet above sea level. Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2012, Dalwhinnie "Distillers Edition" has been finished in Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in an intriguing single malt brimming with character. Both the nose and palate offer layered notes of peat, heather, honey, spice and orange zest, which are perfectly complemented by the elegant sherry notes. Bold flavors of oak, vanilla and roasted nuts merge with a distinctive grape note on the dry, spicy finish.
