93 Points - Wine Advocate
Founded in 1820, D'Oliveira is one of the most prominent Madeira producers in the world. They have carefully stored and preserved many of their most famous vintages, creating a unique and irreplaceable stock of old wines. Every wine is an original D'Oliveira, and was harvested from their own vineyards in Sao Martinho, one of the great viticultural sites in Madeira. These full-bodied, aromatic wines have been aging in oak casks for years and are only bottled in very limited quantities.
The 1968 vintage boasts rich aromas of roasted nuts, caramel and raisins backed by a strong citrus note. Flavors of almond, walnut, orange and vanilla dominate the full, smooth palate, and linger through the long, savory finish.
