Compass Box Oak Cross is a rich blend of Highland Malt Whiskies lead by Teannich and balanced by malts from Brora and Carron. This blend undergoes a unique aging process: initially aged in both first fill and refill American oak, the whisky then undergoes a secondary maturation in "oak cross" American and French oak barrels. It is never chill filtered, which allows this bottling to maintain its complex character. Aromas of honey, wildflower, spice, vanilla, citrus and chocolate introduce the vibrant, malty and honeyed palate. It concludes with orange, baking spices, and a hint of dried fruit.
