Cockspur Rum was created in 1884 by Valdemar Hanschell, a Danish businessman who founded a ship chandlery in Barbados, which supplied visiting ships with goods such as ropes, sails, salt, fresh fruit, meat, and of course, rum. Over time, the popularity of his rum grew and he began exporting it around the world.
Distilled from high quality island cane molasses and pure spring water, Cockspur is expertly blended and then aged in oak barrels to create a smooth, mellow spirit. Soft aromas of vanilla and spice on the nose lead to rich, balanced notes of honey, ginger, and bright hints of citrus fruit on the palate.
