The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819 by the future Duke of Sutherland, and the wildcat emblem is derived from his coat of arms. Today, Clynelish 14 Year Old is a complex, clean malt that merges maritime characteristics with bright fruit. On the nose, the peat influence asserts itself after hints of honey, earth, and fresh herbs. The palate is smoky, fruity, and pleasantly vegetal with a finish of mocha and brine.
