Located in northern Beaujolais, the Cave des Producteurs de Julienas was established in 1960 by eighty-three vintners who joined forces to vinify the grapes from ninety-four hectares of vineyards on five different communes. The winery is housed in an eighteenth century priory called Chateau du Bois de la Salle, which was built by Charrier de la Roche, Napoleon's first chaplain.

Chateau du Bois de la Salle Julienas is an aromatic, medium-bodied Gamay brimming with lovely notes of raspberry, blackberry and violet on both the nose and palate. An elegant touch of spice merges with supple tannins and balanced acidity on the lingering finish.
