


Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2011, Caol Ila Distiller's Edition has been matured in Moscatel casks and is richer, more intense and more complex than other releases, but still remains true to the Caol Ila character. The nose offers clean, concentrated aromas of dried fruit, peat smoke and sea air that merge with distinct notes of Moscatel wine. The sweet grape notes appear on the palate as well, but complement rather than overpower the intense, crisp Islay flavors. Notes of sweet smoke and cinnamon spice appear on the dry, elegant finish.
