Bruichladdich Peat, at c 35ppm of phenol, is the most heavily peated bottling in the range. This whisky starts in Bruichladdich's long neck stills, and is then matured in Bourbon barrels and bottled without coloring or chill filtering. While the resulting spirit is intensely smoky and briny, it maintains an elegance and delicacy unlike many other Islay malts; in addition to a pronounced iodine note, you'll enjoy hints of vanilla, brioche, pear, melon, and cracked black pepper.
