Description
 
The Bruichladdich Distillery was first opened in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers, who were determined to create the purest spirit possible. To do so, they installed the signature tall, narrow-necked stills which are still used today to produce the Bruichladdich line. Although the company experienced numerous owners and was closed on several occasions, the aging whisky remained in storage, and in 2001 the company was once again privately owned and the distillery began to thrive once again.

Matured in oak for twenty two years, Bruichladdich "Black Art Edition 03.1" was meticulously handcrafted by Bruichladdich's Head Distiller, Jim McEwan. The nose opens with elegant aromas of vanilla pods and chocolate raisins, which give way to complex notes of walnut, blueberry, aniseed and tropical fruit. On the palate, a soft hint of brine accentuates concentrated flavors of smoke, baked apple, red fruits, cinnamon and brown sugar, which merge with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and spice on the long finish.
