The "3 Brooms" Riesling was released to honor the Barker's grandfather, Charles. It started in 1888 when he served tea and beer out of a cart to the racegoers at Epsom Downs racecourse in England. However, in 1918 he switched from the cart to a tented pub where three brooms were tied to the highest post. This became a welcome sight for the public and the pub was a landmark for 20 years. The younger Barker generations wanted to keep this memory alive and named their single vineyard wine "3 Brooms".
"3 Brooms" single vineyard wine is cultivated from Muritai, the family's vineyard in Marlborough. Rich citrus aromas on the nose complement spicy flavors of mandarin and apricot. This off-dry wine has pleasant, refreshing acidity that leads to soft earthy notes on the finish.
