A world apart from Bacardi Light, 1873 Solera is a refined sipping rum. A medium amber color, this rum is deceptively pale: it immediately reveals itself as incredibly deep in character. Solera shows lovely aromas of banana, toffee, orange, cinnamon and oak. On the palate, it is smooth, silky and balanced with flavors of caramel, hazelnut, spice and cedar. This is a rum that begs comparison to a fine aged whisky.

Melissa is obviously not a fine Rum taster.  Solera is a very fine rum and with the folks in Mexico preparing the correct way it is fantastic
