Ardbeg is known for its intensely peaty and smoky style. Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, according to the legend, where only the bravest souls dare to venture.
Deep amber in color, the Corryvreckan offers layers of intense and powerful aromas of creosote and linseed oil followed by warm blackcurrants, muscovado and earthy pine needles. The front palate brings forth chewy peppered steak soaked in pepper sauce with the tang of crispy seaweed, descending deeper, the palate offers black tarry espresso coffee that coats the palate with rich melted dark fruits. The finish is long, deep with undertones of star anise, hickory and chocolate coated cherries.
