Alpha Zeta was started in 1999 when David Gleave and New Zealand winemaker, Matt Thompson, set out to produce a range of modern, fruit-forward wines from the hills outside Verona. Their aim was to work closely with the local growers to obtain high quality grapes by reducing yields and harvesting later in the season. Aged for 6 months in oak, Alpha Zeta Corvina is a rich, food friendly red with aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry and dark chocolate. Supple tannins and balanced acidity are complemented by a peppery finish.
